A freak accident in Brazil kills 17 at a carnival when fireworks knocked down a power line on a crowd of people.

Charlie Sheen plans on suing CBS to a tune of $320mil. for the "mental anguish" CBS has caused him.

Um, aren't there bigger problems in the world. A police officer in Georgia shuts down a girl scout cookie stand because the girls did not have a city permit.

A Saudi man has just been arrested in Dallas on terror charges. The man apparently had acquired all the ingredients necessary to build a bomb. Evidence shows that his goal was to attack former President George W. Bush at his home.

A Virginia Bill that is set to pass the legislature would shut down most abortion clinics in the state. The bill requires abortion clinics to meet all of the same medical standards imposed on hospitals, things like increased training and mandatory equipment. In an attempt to avoid the catastrophic demise of Tunisia, Egypt, and possibly Libya, Saudi Arabia has announced it will provide its people with $36 billion in financial relief for its people.

As the protests grow in Libya, Gadhafi tightens his grip. He has ordered the military to open fire on the people, even in mosques.

Could oil be a better commodity for investment than gold? Prices are on the rise.

No country is immune to protest. China is fighting off protesters calling for a "jasmine revolution."

Mean time, political leaders in the United States have picked up their own "bloody" rhetoric in an attempt to keep states from restricting union power.

Firearms on Campus!

The Texas legislature is very near approving a measure that would allow teachers and students to carry concealed firearms on campus. If passed, Texas would become only the second state (behind Colorado) to approve the measure. At the same time, Johnson City Iowa is considering a ban on all firearms on public property.

The current conditions of Texas.

For those who missed it, the Texas legislature has recently finished a report that details the current conditions of the state. There are some very interesting and very disturbing statistics. Check it out.

Providence Rhode Island has a new take on dealing with its budget short fall. The state is issuing pink slips to all the teachers in the state's employ. Not all teachers will be let go, but the state is preparing itself for massive layoffs.

Arizona is looking to pass a second immigration bill. This bill targets illegal immigrants in public housing, in the workforce, and who are receiving public benefits.

Tragedy in New Zealand. An earthquake has kill over 60 people and parts of the country are without water.
